Chocolate Chip Cookies
This crisp-yet-chewy cookie is great as a lunch box treat or an afternoon snack served with cold milk.
Ingredients you will need to
make about 30 cookies:
- 1 cup/250 mL all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp/2.5 mL baking soda
- 1/4 tsp/1.2 mL salt
- 2-1/2 tbsp/40 mL butter or margarine, melted
- 1/2 cup/125 mL sugar
- 1/4 cup/60 mL brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp/5 mL Watkins Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp/1.2 mL Watkins Butter Extract
- 1/2 cup/125 mL semisweet chocolate chips
- Watkins Cooking Spray
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375ºF/190ºC and spray a cookie sheet(s) with Watkins Cooking Spray; set aside.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl; set aside.
- Place melted butter in large bowl; stir in sugars and mix well.
- Add egg and extracts; mix well.
- Add flour mixture and chocolate chips; mix until just combined.
- Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden.
- Using oven mitts, very carefully remove cookies from the cookie sheet to a wire rack to cool.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies Sweetened with honey, these cookies are not only healthful, but also a snap to make.
Ingredients you will need to about 20 cookies:
- 1/4 cup/60 mL low-fat plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup/60 mL Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil
- 1/2 cup/125 mL honey
- 1 tsp/5 mL Watkins Vanilla
- 1 cup/250 mL rolled oats
- 1 cup/250 mL all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp/5 mL Watkins Baking Powder
- 2-1/2 tsp/12.5 mL Watkins Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup/125 mL raisins
- 1/4 cup/60 mL chopped walnuts
- Watkins Cooking Spray
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF/180ºC.
- Stir together yogurt, oil, honey, and vanilla in large bowl.
- Mix in oats.
- Add flour, baking powder, and cinnamon; mix well.
- Stir in raisins and walnuts.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet sprayed with no-stick cooking spray.
- Bake for 14 to 17 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Using oven mitts, very carefully remove the cookies from the cookie sheet to a wire rack to cool.
- Store in air-tight containers.
