There once was a family - an average North American family - that enjoyed a middle-class lifestyle.  They owned their own home, they had a lovely daughter and a handsome son who both loved sports, friends and all the things that teenagers enjoy doing.  The husband was very successful in his career and had worked his way up to the position of General Manager of the company that employed him.  The wife had also become successful in her career and worked her way up to Management at the local community college that employed her.  They had two cars, two cats, one mortgage, one car loan, one daughter ready to head to university and one son only two years behind, a few credit cards with balances that they carried each month ...  a very normal family, living a very normal life.

In all respects, this family was leading a very happy life - but unbeknownst to many, they had a dream.  They dreamt of being able to go to bed at night and wake up each morning with the full knowledge and confidence that they were living their lives the way they wanted to.  They wanted to know that they were not only doing this for themselves, but they also wanted to set an example for their children so that early on in their lives, they would set out on a path with the complete knowledge and comprehension that their futures really would be in their own control.  The couple did not want to "retire", but they wanted to restructure the way that they made the money they needed to live - they were not after millions (although they certainly wouldn't turn that down!), but they wanted to live comfortably and securely.  They just wanted a "life".

Well, this couple decided to actually do something about that instead of just dreaming about it.  They spent weeks pouring over the classified ads in the paper and magazines looking for any opportunity that would enable them to "build" on what they already had, without forcing them to give up their current sources of income - and that also would enable them to still have lots of home and family time - and perhaps even have some fun in the process!  They sent away for all kinds of information packs and collected them all as they arrived.  Once they had them all, they laid them all out and sorted them into three categories - 'totally out of reach' ($100,000 to start your own franchise), 'totally unrealistic' (make $3,000 a week stuffing envelopes), and 'real possibilities' (a MUCH smaller pile!).

The husband and the wife reviewed this pile together since this would be something that would affect both of their lives as well as their family life.  They looked for a few specific benefits:

• it had to offer products that they would use in their own home;
• it had to offer a way to earn immediate cash income;
• it had to offer long-term stability;
• it had to be something that they could show and help others achieve too so that they and everyone they helped could eventually earn 'residual' income;
• it had to be something that could be worked anywhere and did not require them to be locked into a particular location or store-front;
• it definitely had to offer products that were safe for their family, home and environment;
• and last, but certainly not least, it had to be an opportunity that would enable them to earn as much income as they desired.

They narrowed it down to five choices and then sent away requests for additional information to those companies.  They received information from two and nothing from two - and from one they received a phone call - a real person who answered their questions honestly and told them exactly how this home-business would work if they decided that it was right for them.  As you may have already guessed, the phone call the couple received was from a Watkins Associate.  That was thirteen years ago and since that time, life has taken on a very exciting 'new normal'!

The husband and wife threw themselves into their new business - they loved the product lines and found many friends, family and acquaintances who had already heard of Watkins and loved the products as well (but didn't know where to find them!) - they enjoyed all the new people they were meeting and the way their business began to grow for them ... and their profit cheques right along with it!  Having worked in more 'traditional' business environments, this new business of Network Marketing was thrilling in the way the results the couple desired were 100% in THEIR control based on their consistent efforts - not hard work, by any means, just consistent! 

The couple soon made the decision that this was what they both wanted to do as a 'career' and so they decided to take all of the profits from their new business and pay off all of their debts (while putting both their children through university!).  Before they knew it, they had paid off their credit cards, their car loans and even their mortgage!  This had only taken six years!  Now they were truly in control of their lives!  All the while, the couple were meeting more and more people who also wanted to be in control of their lives, too!  The husband and wife really enjoyed helping others start and run their own Watkins business and watching them achieve the goals that they set out for themselves.

Today the husband and wife are doing very well - in fact, they were able to sell their home and purchase a new home in one of the favourite locations - for cash!  Their Watkins business is providing a very steady income for them and each morning they wake up and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting about their tasks for the day - a lot of which happens on the Internet now.  They have time for their favourite hobbies - sailing, knitting, and decorating their new home.  Their favourite saying is "We might not have the million dollars, but we sure do live a millionaire's lifestyle!"
